Grew up in South Jersey and looked forward to Mr. Softee soft swirl ice cream cones and shakes every summer. The Mr. Softee trucks and jingle played a significant role in the culture of our Bel Aire Estates neighborhood (built in 1956). In the 1960s the drivers even handed out Beatles “coins” to all of us kids who were crazy for them. (If only we had saved them!) What a delight to learn the Hiller family is bringing that delicious ice cream treat to Camarillo where my Dad and my sister now live.
Hello, I am originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada…and boy do I miss the soft serve ice cream trucks in the summer months! When the trucks rolled out in the spring, it was a sign that summer was just around the corner. I was surprised they don’t have them here in California. We will be customers for sure!
